Thermal Hall effect of chiral spin fluctuations

چکیده
Using a two-dimensional square lattice Heisenberg model with Rashba-type Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, we demonstrate that chiral spin fluctuations can give rise to thermal Hall effect in the absence of any static texture or momentum space topology. It is shown by means Monte Carlo and stochastic dynamics simulations response finite at elevated temperature outside linear wave regime consistent presence fluctuation-induced nontrivial Our result suggests high-fluctuation phases conventional magnonics may yet be promising area exploration for spin-based electronics.

Thermal Hall Effect of Spin Excitations in a Kagome Magnet.
At low temperatures, the thermal conductivity of spin excitations in a magnetic insulator can exceed that of phonons. However, because they are charge neutral, the spin waves are not expected to display a thermal Hall effect. However, in the kagome lattice, theory predicts that the Berry curvature leads to a thermal Hall conductivity κ(xy). Here we report observation of a large κ(xy) in the kag...
متن کاملThermal Fluctuations of Disoriented Chiral Condensate Domains
We argue that disoriented chiral condensate (DCC) domains are not well defined for temperatures above the Ginzburg temperature TG (≃ 0.7Tc). Above TG, the dynamics of DCC domains is dominated by thermal fluctuations leading to fluctuating orientation of the chiral field in a given domain. It implies that DCC domains may form even in relatively lower energy collisions where the temperature only ...

A remarkable analogy is established between the well-known spin Hall effect and the polarization dependence of Rayleigh scattering of light in microcavities. This dependence results from the strong spin effect in elastic scattering of exciton polaritons: if the initial polariton state has a zero spin and is characterized by some linear polarization, the scattered polaritons become strongly spin...
متن کاملChiral Magnetic Effect and Anomalous Hall Effect in Antiferromagnetic Insulators with Spin-Orbit Coupling.
We search for dynamical magnetoelectric phenomena in three-dimensional correlated systems with spin-orbit coupling. We focus on the antiferromagnetic insulator phases where the dynamical axion field is realized by the fluctuation of the antiferromagnetic order parameter. It is shown that the dynamical chiral magnetic effect, an alternating current generation by magnetic fields, emerges due to s...
متن کاملUniversal intrinsic spin Hall effect.
We describe a new effect in semiconductor spintronics that leads to dissipationless spin currents in paramagnetic spin-orbit coupled systems. We argue that in a high-mobility two-dimensional electron system with substantial Rashba spin-orbit coupling, a spin current that flows perpendicular to the charge current is intrinsic. In the usual case where both spin-orbit split bands are occupied, the...
